Indian Cricket team - Time to face the Bitter truth!

source: http://content-www.cricinfo.com

I watched the India vs. Bangladesh cricket match today and was very disappointed by India's performance. Looks like the much trash talked person, Ganguly came to rescue India's miserable batting. He was the only one who scored more than 50 runs.

Tendulkar must retire as soon as possible. It is better to leave the team with dignity rather than retire with disgrace. All of us have a lot of respect for our Little Master but it is time he hangs his gloves and goes home.

Bangladesh, supposed to be formed of players from 'the streets' proved their team spirit and confidence today. They were definitely underestimated by the Indians.

India vs. Srilanka is going to decide India's fate at the 2007 World Cup! Initially we were talking about India's strategy at the semi-finals and the finals, now it has come down to Qualification for the super 8 stage!

As an Indian i want our team to win the world cup. But the fact remains that we need some basic corrections. And it can come only after some terible losses. First of all we have to do away with the zonal selection system. Secondly all the team selections mettings(for any tour) should be shown live on tv so that the selectors are more responsible and think about team other than an individual from there zone.

Nitin, I completely agree with you. A lot of things that involve the ICB are never revealed to the public. Before "Cinema" used to be the easiest field to make money in, now it is the Indian Cricket team. In order to get into the team, people bribe others. This is the first place where the mistakes start. Also once they are in the team and play decently in a few matches, they change their profession to "Advertising". Most of the players only care about is individual records and money. There should be a disgraceful match in the World Cup, then India will learn a lesson.

One cant blame the players for becoming interested in money and fame since its the fans who treat them like god when they perform well(like they did to Dhoni) and then when they dont perform, start attacking them.

Firstly reduce the hype Cricket has in India.Once the hype goes down, so will the media coverage, numebr of bookies etc.. and with that the players in the team will be the players who really love cricket!
